The first day of school for students will be Monday, August 24, 2009.  Classroom placements for the 2009-2010 school year will be finalized and posted by the close of business on Friday, August 21.  Parents that have not registered students prior to August 24 should report to the Main Office on the first day of school.

Please be reminded that Prince George's County Public Schools will operate a summer schedule based on a four-day work week.  This schedule will apply to all schools and administrative offices withing the school system.  Schools and offices will be open Monday through Thursday, with extended work hours.  Core business hours will be 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.  All facilities will be closed on Fridays from June 22 through August 14, 2009.

It is the goal of our school community to work collaboratively with students, parents and other members of the community to build relationships and promote effective communication. Lamont will continue to foster the ideals of a community-centered school through a continuous collaborative effort with groups and individuals in the community.

Please continue to promote reading and mathematics during the summer weeks.  It is important that our students utilize their learned skills so that they do not regress in their knowledge during the summer break.  I look forward to seeing each of you in August!
