    MISSION

                The Mission of the Library Media Program is to support the curriculum and the educational goals of our school, help students to become effective users of ideas and information, and promote a life-long enjoyment of reading and learning.

     

    USING THE MEDIA CENTER

    • Students who wish to use the Media Center during the school day, after 7:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m must have a signed pass from the teacher of their current class mod/period.                                  
    • Students are to be quiet and actively engaged in reading; writing; research; class-work; projects; or assignments in the Media Center
    • Treat library property and the property of others with respect.
    • Conduct yourself in a positive manner

    Library Media Policies


    Borrowing Materials
    Students are scheduled to come to the library once every other week for book exchange.
    Students in grades 1st through 5th generally check out TWO books every two weeks.
    Students are not charged fines for late books, but lost or damaged books necessitate a replacement cost fee. Most library books cost around $5-25.00 to replace. Audio materials will have higher fees.
    Internet Use
    All students are expected to adhere to the Acceptable Use Policy referred to in the Student Code of Conduct. These rules ensure the safety of our students and promote responsibility and respect.
    1. Students will visit only sites related to school work.
    2. Students will log on to computers and keep passwords a secret.
    3. Students will take care of computer equipment.
    4. Students will NOT give out any personal information such as an address or telephone number.
    5. Students will NOT use chat rooms or instant messaging while at school.
    6. Students will respect copyright laws by giving credit to the author.
