Orientation is Monday, August 25, 2014.
9:30 a.m. - 4:10 p.m.
Orientation day for 7th graders ONLY
7th graders are to report to school by 9:30 a.m. dressed in FULL UNIFORM. Breakfast and lunch will be served. 7th graders will have a full instructional day to learn about the routines in James Madison Middle, receive their schedules, and go to all of their classes.
School bus transportation will be provided to 7th graders who are identified as bus riders. Bus stop locations and times will be sent to families from the PGCPS Office of Transportation.
The first day of school is Tuesday, August 26, 2014.
First day of school for ALL students. ALL students are expected to arrive to school on time and in FULL UNIFORM.

James Madison International Baccalaureate World School Goes on an European Adventure
Thirty individuals consisting of the principal, teachers, students, and parents of James Madison Middle School visited London, England and Paris, France during the 2014 Spring Break. As the only Middle Years IB School in our school district, Principal King says, “It is important for students of James Madison to experience other cultures “outside the walls of the United States”. Just to name a few, students had the privilege to visit Buckingham Palace, go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, ride down the Seine River, explore in the Louve Museum and see the portrait of Mona Lisa, stroll through the gardens of Luxembourg, ride on the London Eye, and participate in activities at several museums throughout both cities. In addition, students had the opportunity to experience everyday life in these countries by riding and learning the local transit systems, eating in restaurants and cafes, and learning and speaking a different language. In 2013, a group from James Madison visited Costa Rica during Spring break. As these ventures are becoming an annual event, planning stages for their 2015 trip will begin in the very near future.
