SECONDARY TEAM

The Secondary Team of James E Duckworth School has been honored to be selected as a future site of the AKTION CLUB.  An AKTION CLUB is sponsored by a Kiwanis club in cooperation with a local agency supporting citizens who live with disabilities. In our case, the agency will be James E. Duckworth Regional School.

     The requirements for AKTION CLUB membership are set forth in the ACTION CLUB STANDARD Form for CLUB BYLAWS. Potential members should, have the ability to participate in club activities, benefit from participating in AKTION CLUB activities and have the potential to grow as a member of AKTION

CLUB. Due to the minimum age requirement the secondary team was chosen.  The team discussed the requirement of the membership and nominated students from the secondary team.  As we become more familiar with the requirements we hope to expand this for more members.

      Our club is planning to meet 2 times a month from 1:00-1:30. Since this is a service learning organization, some possible activities may include:

 -Painting the exterior of our school

-Landscaping the school yard

-Recycling aluminum cans, glass jars, etc.

-Planting trees and flowers

-Maintaining the gardens

in the school yard

-Distributing anti-liter stickers

-Distributing food baskets during the holidays for families in need.

There will be a $5.00 membership fee and a formal presentation of the CHARTER will occur at school. More information about joining this very beneficial organization will be sent home with selected students.
