Junior HSA Nights - Preparing Students for HSA Exams
HS Juniors… Are You Ready to Sit…Pass…Walk?
HS Jouniors... Are you ready to Sit... Pass... Walk?
The Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) High School Consortium office presents “Junior HSA Nights” on April 29 and 30 for all high school juniors. Information will be available for students and families on High School Assessments (HSA) testing requirements, tools for preparation, and resources offered by PGCPS.

The HSAs are given in four times a year in four areas including Algebra/Data Analysis, Biology, Government, and English. All students, including middle school students taking high school level courses, must take the HSA after completing the appropriate course. A combined score of 1602 is now a state requirement for high school graduation.

Last year, the Prince George’s County Board of Education launched a public awareness campaign, entitled “Sit…Pass…Walk,” to educate students and families on the importance of passing the HSA exams. Students must “Sit” for the HSA test, “Pass” the assessments, in order to be eligible to “Walk” across the stage to receive their diploma at high school graduation.

For more information on the HSA exams or resources available for students and families contact the High School Consortium office at 301-583-1600.
