The Maryland General Assembly ended its 2009 legislative session maintaining its commitment to making public education a top priority by fully funding the Thornton Bridge to Excellence Act for Education

In a letter to PGCPS Students, Employees, Parents and Community Leaders, Interim Superintendent William R. Hite writes, "We want to thank Governor O’Malley for keeping the promises he made to Prince George’s County parents, children, and public school employees when he visited Dr. Henry A. Wise, Jr. High School in November 2008. Moreover, we want to thank the Prince George’s County Delegation to the General Assembly for continuing the fight to obtain resources for our public schools...Indeed, we are extremely fortunate to have their representation during these difficult fiscal times."  Read the entire letter>> | en español
