The Prince George’s County Board of Education honored 52 Prince George’s County public schools on Monday for being “Exemplary Schools.” Exemplary in that these schools have earned 80- to 90-percent and higher levels of proficiency in reading and math on the 2008 Maryland School Assessments (MSA).
“We are seeing an unprecedented growth in Prince George's County public schools with respect to student achievement. Our state assessment scores rose for the fifth school year in a row this year,” said Verjeana M. Jacobs, Esq., Chair, Prince George’s County Board of Education. “We honored the work of students and teachers with ‘exemplary school’ displays for all visitors to see at each school, as every school moves closer to 100% proficiency and advanced level learning.”
