Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) Superintendent John E. Deasy was invited to speak to the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Drafting Committee about public school K-12 education today in Cleveland. Dr. Deasy will describe public education nationally and relate it to progress made locally.

Maryland Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown was named to the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Drafting Committee. The Drafting Committee, which will be led by Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, is charged with drafting the Democratic Party’s platform in advance of the Party’s national convention in Denver.

The drafting committee scheduled a public hearing to be held today in Cleveland and will hold public platform meetings in other communities in the weeks before the convention.
