PGCPS Signs MOU for Innovative Pilot Reading Program
PGCPS Signs MOU

Dr. William R. Hite, Jr., Superintendent, Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) signed an historical Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Let Us Keep Engaged (LUKE) Foundation's President Charles G. Davis on June 7 for the “5 Gets You 25 Summer Reading Program”.  The innovative pilot reading program is designed to encourage children to remain engaged throughout the summer by earning a stipend while exercising their minds.  Participants are encouraged to read a total of five books and write a report on each book and earn five dollars per book up to $25.

Students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades enrolled in Columbia Park ESRogers Heights ESWilliam Paca ESCarmody Hills ES, and Cooper Lane ES are eligible for the program.
