Students at Adelphi Elementary School are buzzing with excitement as they recently learned they were selected to represent Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) at the 2010 White House Easter Egg Roll. The event will be held on April 5.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s office extended an invitation from the White House to PGCPS by sending 250 tickets for students, staff, and parents to enjoy the day of sports, cooking classes, live musical performances, storytelling, and the traditional Easter egg roll. The Adelphi students will participate from 9:45 to 11:45 a.m.

This year’s theme, “Ready, Set, Go!,” encourages America’s youth to lead healthy and active lives. The event is tied into the First Lady’s ‘Let’s Move!’ initiative, a national campaign to combat childhood obesity.
