International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program

IB Application Instructions (2018-2019)

This application is for current 8th grade students to enter a Pre-Diploma Program cohort of 9th students who will be considered for the IB Diploma Programme in grade 11 in the following high schools: Central, Crossland, Frederick Douglass, Laurel, Parkdale, or Suitland. 

Once you begin the online application, you will need to finish.  You will not be able to save it so you can finish it later. 

Your first step is to gather the following information before you start the application. 

A.      Read about the IB Diploma Programme in Prince George’s County Public Schools

B.      Use SchoolFinder to locate your IB program school if unsure: http://gis.pgcps.org/schoolfinder/findschool2.asp. 

C.      Write your essay on the topic below.  Save it on your computer, Google Drive, or USB drive. Here is the topic:

International Baccalaureate Learners strive to be: Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open Minded, Caring, Risk Takers, Balanced, and Reflective of a global society. Select one of the above listed attributes and describe an experience where you demonstrated that characteristic. (250 to 300 words)

 

Part 1: For this part, you will need:

1.       Your first and last name

2.       Your student’s ID number (9 or 10 digits)

3.       Your email address

4.       The name of your middle school

5.       Your parent’s/guardian’s name

6.       Your parent’s/guardian’s phone number

7.       Your home address

8.       Your parent’s/guardian’s email address

9.       Your IB high school
 

Part 2: Student Extra Curricular Activities/Community Service/Awards

Please list your activities below each area.  Include dates of participation and contact information:
