Reviews are due January 31, 2008 and June 30, 2008  - Portfolio Review Form

Parents may select to participate in Home Schooling in a number of ways. All parents using either of the options below must complete and submit a Home Schooling Notification Form to the Prince George's County Public Schools' Department of Pupil Services and Guidance at the Oxon Hill Staff Development Center located at 7711 Livingston Road, Suite K in Oxon Hill, Maryland 20745 notifying the school system of their intent and listing each child being instructed in this manner.

The Home Schooling Program options are:

  • Parents may provide Home Schooling themselves by instructing their children at home.  If this option is selected, supervision of their Home Schooling program must be provided by Prince George's County Public Schools through portfolio reviews of each child's work and the curriculum used. Parents may design their own curricula or use correspondence courses as guides.
  • Instruction may be provided in a non-public school or correspondence course that is registered with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) to supervise Home Schooling. Also, included in this category are MSDE registered religious or church affiliated non-public schools. When parents select this option, supervision is given by a registered non-public school or correspondence course. Parents are still required to complete and submit the Home Schooling Notification Form to Prince George's County Public Schools notifying the public school of their intent.
