The one priority for parents is their student’s well being. More than 30 years’ worth of research has proven that students do better when their parents are involved both at home and at school. Grades and test scores climb. Self-esteem grows. Schools improve.

There’s a simple way for you to help your student succeed:  Join HPHS PTSA.  PTA/PTSA help parents, students, school staff and communities work together to share ideas about programs and activities that benefit students.

Why join the PTSA?

As a PTSA member, you will have a hand in:

·      Addressing school issues

·      Networking with others

·      Developing your skills

·      Becoming a leader in the community

·      Having a say in your student’s future through PTSA

HPHS PTSA plans to provide resources and information that strengthen the connections between High Point's students, parents, staff and the community.

The HPHS PTSA Meetings are held every 2nd Tuesday of each month in the HP Cafeteria.

Please join by filling out the membership form available at all meetings or online.  Click here for the online membership forms: (English or Spanish)  Visit the National PTA website, PTA.org, to sample the benefits you’ll reap when you join PTSA.

“When the PTSA gets involved, students benefit. When you get involved with PTSA, the student who benefits most is your own.”

We are always recruiting members to serve on the following committees:

  • Communications – PTSA Newsletter, Website Updates, Flyer Distribution and E-Mail Manager
  • Fund Raising – plan and coordinate fund raisers throughout the year.   HPHS participates in various local merchant fundraisers that help support our school, simply by using your store bonus card for Giant, Safeway and Target.
  • Grants – research for possible grants, write and submit grant proposals
  • Membership – hold membership drives and maintain membership data
  • Nominating – propose a slate of officers for the following year.
  • Programs – plan and organize PTSA programs, workshops and special activities
  • Scholarship – send out applications and work with Guidance selecting recipient(s)
