Spanish

Overview

This year the students are being offered Introduction to Spanish.  This introductory course gives students the opportunity to communicate in Spanish and to develop skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.  The program focuses on functional language in selected situations.  Success in this course will allow the middle school student to advance to Spanish I for which high-school credit may be given.

Grading Policy

Tests - 50%

Written Assignments – 25 %

Oral (willingness to use the language/how well the language is used) – 25%

Assignments are normally begun in class and finished at home.  The assignment is due at the beginning of the next class.  No late assignments are accepted (unless the student has an excused absence from school) because the assignment is corrected in class on that day.  The study of vocabulary and verbs is always an assignment.
