"An Institution Of Learning Where All Students Acquire And Achieve Academic Excellence"

 Special Education

The special education department is concerned with the needs of special needs students in conjunction with “No Child Left Behind” and its association with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Today’s special needs students include some of the brightest young people in education today. Students with Learning Disabilities and Emotional Challenges, as well as those with more severe forms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders, are able to receive an appropriate education in the general education classroom. These students no longer need to be sent to other schools to receive their education. It is our goal to meet the needs of these students, along with their peers, by providing them with accommodations and modifications that will level the playing field.

Please feel free to contact us with any concerns or questions you may have regarding special education in Gwynn Park Middle School.
