     Dr. Tracie Miller, Principal

    Dear Parents/Guardians:

I am very excited to begin another school year at Gwynn Park High School.  It is my goal to continue to uphold and maintain a culture of high expectations in a caring and respectful environment.

We will align our mission with that of the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Kevin Maxwell:  To provide a great education that empowers all students and contributes to thriving communities.  To do this, we will focus on culture, data, and performance with a lens on literacy in order to have outstanding academic achievement for all.  As we prepare your child to meet the college and career ready requirements, we will maintain an intentional emphasis on College and Career Standards measured on assessments like PARCC, PSAT, SAT, and Advanced Placement Courses.

Our work will include instructional practice opportunities within the following structures:

    · Daily Silent Sustained Reading (SSR)

    · Literacy, College & Career Practice Day (LCC Day)

    · Extended Learning Opportunities (After-school tutoring)

All members of the community share the responsibility of making a great school.  I welcome the opportunity to partner with you in the journey as we
Make Children our Business and Parents our Partners.  Let’s have a great year by choice!
