Crisis Intervention

Crisis Intervention

Ms. Holmes

Definition of a Crisis: A disruption or breakdown in a person's or family's normal or usual pattern of functioning.  A crisis cannot be resolved by a peron's customary problem-solving resources/skills.

A crisis may be different from a problem or an emergency.

When students are in crisis they are sent to Rm. 210 where Ms. Holmes (Crisis Intervention) and Mr. Tepe, (school psychologist) will calm the students and help them work through the situation to ultimately get them back on track and into class.

Additionally, when students have conflict with one another mediation is conduted to help the students work through their conflicts.  This type of intervention is very helpful and it keeds down student suspensions.
