    Nurse's Information

Immunization Requirements - Federal and state guidelines mandate age appropriate immunizations for every child between the grades of Pre-K to 12th.  To ensure compliance with these regulations.  Health  Services staff will constantly be reviewing student's health records.  Students without appropriate documentation will have twenty calendar (20) days from the time the lack of documentation was noted, to comply with immunization regulations.

Medication Administration - In compliance with our Maryland Nurse Practice Act, we do not administer medication (prescription or over the counter medications) and/or medical treatment without a physican's order.  In order to legally comply with school regulations, we need a parent/guardian signature for medication/treatment administration.  A new medication form must be completed and on file at the school for each school year prior to the administration of any medication/treatment.

Individual arrangements need to be made with parents for transporting medication to and from the school.  It is preferred that students do not transport medication to or from school.  All medications must be presented in their original, labeled container with the student's name, name of medication, name of prescribing physician, and dosage with beginning and ending date.  This medication must be accompanied by physician's medication order and parental permission for administration.
