ANNOUNCEMENTS

PSAT for All 8th Grade Students

The PSAT 8/9 will be administered on December 8, 2016. The PSAT 8/9 will be used as a factor for placing students in special programs. Once the test has begun we are not permitted to allow late students to join in, even if their tardiness is excussed.  We ask that you ensure your child arrives to school on time next Thursday so they will be able to take the test. The Transportation Department continues to work on getting all students to school on time.  If your child's bus has not been arriving to school prior to 9:30 please consider dropping them off yourself. Please also keep in mind that students can use the websites psat.org/8-9 or khanacademy.org/sat to further prepare for the PSAT 8/9.

Attention 8th grade parents. Any 8th grade students who are interested in applying for the following high school programs please see Ms. Clark-Eaton in the Guidance Office for an application:

AP Capstone at ERHS

Visual & Performing Arts at Suitland HS, Northwestern HS (boundary students only)

The Academy of Health & Sciences at PGCCC

and THE AEROSPACE ENGINEERING & AVIATION TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM at Duval HS

It is imperative that the students see their 8th grade counselor if they are interested in any of these high school programs, the application deadline is November 4.

Please DO NOT COME TO THE GUIDANCE OFFICE FOR THE SCIENCE & TECH PROGRAM, THERE IS NO APPLICATION THIS YEAR FOR THAT PROGRAM.
