Our hardworking ESOL teachers include:

Mrs. Mba - ESOL Chairperson and Instructor
Ms. Harders - Instructor
Mr. Aji - Instructor
Mrs. Shereika - Instructor

Mission:   The mission of the ESOL/Language Minority Program is to provide appropriate, effective English language instruction and to facilitate cultural awareness for limited English students, while participating as collaborative partners in the students' educational experiences.

Program Description:   The English for Students of Other Languages/Language Minority Program (ESOL/LMP) provides the English language instruction and cultural support required of local educational agencies for non- and limited-English proficient students, grades Kindergarten through 12. Language minority students who, through language proficiency testing, are determined to be non- or limited-English proficient, are assigned to schools with ESOL instructional programs. The students receive direct ESOL instruction from trained ESOL teachers in classes that meet on a regularly scheduled basis.

Gladys Noon Spellman ESOL classrooms are equipped with computers in some classrooms.

We address the needs of our students and differentiate instructions in technology-rich environments utilizing a variety of age- appropriate, educational software programs such as: Starfall.com; Study Island.com; United Streaming; ABC Teach.com and various other websites.

We strive for excellence and believe that each and every child can and will learn. We continue to use our ESOL created motto of: “He who can, thinks he can…Can Achieve” and ensure that it is part of our daily routine.

Our instructional models that we use are the pull-out as well as the plug-in model.
