“Let the Knowledge Drop”
“Let the Knowledge Drop” was a collaborative effort by the students, staff and community members at Forest Heights Elementary School.  In an effort to motivate and prepare students for the upcoming Maryland State Assessment (MSA), Forest Heights Music teacher Charles Robinson wrote the lyrics for the song, which includes tips and strategies for students to use while taking the MSA.  Students in grades 3-6 learned and performed the song with enthusiasm and excitement.  The videotaping and editing process was completed by the Circle of Hope volunteers.  Circe of Hope (Healing our Personal Environments) is a mentoring group that works to educate students about the risks and danger of becoming involved in gangs, drugs and other unhealthy behaviors.  This is the 2nd year of the Circle of Hope partnership with Forest Heights Elementary.  The entire Forest Heights Family is grateful for their assistance and involvement.   We are ready to do our best on the upcoming MSA.  Yes we can do better than…

MSA
Maryland State Assessment

MSA is fastly approaching.  Please make sure your children go to bed at a decent time so they can be alert and prepared to work the next day.

Spring Break Packets

Our students have received Spring Break Maryland School Assessment (MSA) Preparation Packets to be completed, in order to continue the sharpening of their reading and mathematical skills.  Please take the opportunity over the break to review the packets with your child.  Students will receive credit for completed packets.  As you know, the MSA will be administered in April.  The staff and I desire for all of our students to not only pass, but to excel in all areas of the exam.  The Wise Owls will soar to success.

Science  MSA Online
This year, will be the second time that Forest Heights will be taking
MSA Science online. The students have been practicing their keyboarding
skills in order to complete BCR's on the test.  Our 5th grade class is to
be commended for doing an outstanding job following directions
and paying attention to instruction during the practice.
