FIRST Professional Growth Information - Teachers

As part of the FIRST grant teachers must complete 25 hours of professional development throughout the course of the school year to receive the professional growth award.  Teachers can receive up to a $1,000 award. Professional Development awards are received about one month after the course completion date. All workshops are paid the current contractually negotiated workshop rate.

All FIRST Participants are expected to pre-register for classes using our Electronic Registrar Online System (ERO).  For directions on how to access ERO, Click Here

First Year Participants:
As a first year participant in the program there are required professional growth classes for teachers.  In the first year of participation teachers will engage in professional development to learn the components of FIRST, learn the new evaluation system, and deepen their understanding of the professional standards from the Framework For Teaching.

Enrollment Classes:
Prior to signing an MOU for the FIRST program teachers must complete four (4) professional growth classes.
