 Important Reminders/Updates... 

  • School Uniform: Khaki pants only. Plain white or maroon/burgundy golf shirt (must have a collar) only.  Required shoes--Black or Brown shoes.  Girls may wear khaki skirt/skort.  Length of skirt must be finger tip length.
    • All pants must be appropriately sized to eliminate any bagging or sagging.
    • No visible labels or logos on any article of clothing are allowed.
    • Shirts must remain tucked into the pants and skirts. A belt must be worn if belt loops are on the garment.
    • Slacks and skirts are worn at the natural waist.
    • Fairmont Heights High School logos are the only acceptable forms of labeling on the uniform.  

    Please note:  These styles and fabrics are not permitted: 

  • Stretch, tight, or form-fitting clothing
  • Baggy pants
  • Jean-style (this is a style of pant not the fabric)
  • Denim or corduroy
  • Cargo or painter pants
  • Hooded clothing of any type or style
  • Cropped shirts or pants
  • Slippers or flip flops
  • Capris
  • Creative (cut-out holes, rips, drawings, etc.) alterations to any clothing.
  • Sunglasses are to be worn inside the building
  • Pinned-up or tied shirts.
  • All students MUST wear their ID badge inside the schoolhouse at all times (Badges will be re-issued).

    • The Student Code of Conduct states that all students enrolled in high schools in Prince George’s County Public Schools grades 9-12 are required to wear a student identification badge, appended to a break-away chain, which is to hang from the student's neck. Students are provided with a photo ID and break-away chain at no cost. Students will be given three temporary IDs. After using the three temporary IDs, students must purchase another photo ID at a replacement cost of $5.00.

Exemptions

 New Students- Students new to the district after Labor Day will be allowed a grace period of five (5) school days to comply with the School Uniform Policy.

• Religious Beliefs- Parents or legal guardians who object to the policy based on religious beliefs must present to the building principal a signed letter explaining their belief. The parent or legal guardian and the building principal will meet to discuss the exemption.

  • NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS--10/16, 10/30,
  • 1st Quarter Report Cards Release Date--November 10th
  • End of 1st Quarter--October 29th 
  • Parent Teacher Conferences--November 11th
  • Grade changes will only be considered if the student or parent can produce graded work by the original teacher that was not included in the weighted grade.
  • Electronic devices:  Students may bring cell phones to school; however, phones MUST be turned completely off (not on silent or vibrate mode) and kept out of sight during the school day. Students may not bring electronic devices to school such as gameboy, PS2 or IPOD etc.,
    • If a student's phone or electronic device(s) is seen or turned on during the school day, it will be confiscated and turned over to the Principal and a parent will be required to  pick it up between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. 
    • Parents/Guardians who allow their child to bring an electronic device to school, will do so at their own risk.  The school is not responsible for lost or stolen cell phones or electric devices.  Please remind students to bring only those items and materials which support their instructional program.
