The Media Center

Welcome to the Ernest Everett Just Middle School Library Media Center home page. These are the policies and procedures that govern our center and make it an inviting place to be. Our goal is to be the hub of the school providing resources to the students and teachers for research and leisure reading. We provide many resources such as magazines, newspapers, reference books, fiction, and non-fiction books and educational videos.
Computer Use: School computers are used for educational purposes only. Students must agree to the conditions and terms of Dr. Ernest Everett Middle School’s Acceptable Use Policy.

http://www.worldbookonline.com - World Book Online offers access to the online edition of The World Book Encyclopedia as well as a dictionary, atlas, and activities such as Surf the Ages. The interface is customizable so that it can easily be used by younger and older students. A user name and password is required to use this database outside of school.
http://sks.sirs.com - SIRS offers two comprehensive databases, SIRS Knowledge Source (grades 8 and up) and SIRS Discoverer (grades 1-8). These databases offer access to periodical articles, government reports, and web sites that students can use when completing research for their projects.
http://online.culturegrams.com - This service provides information about 187 different countries and territories that includes maps, statistics, history, and a glossary. A user name and password is required to use this database outside of school.
http://www.teachingbooks.net - Teachingbooks.net offers original, in-studio movies of authors and illustrators, audio excerpts of professional book readings, guides to thousands of titles and a wealth of multimedia resources on children's and young adult literature. A password is required to use this database outside of school.
