7th Grade Transition Day, Monday, August 25, 2014
7th graders will attend school all day for transition into Drew-Freeman

To the Parents of Incoming 7th Grade Students:

Monday, August 25, 2014 will be the official PGCPS Transition Day at Drew Freeman Middle School. This day has been
especially designed specifically for incoming 7th grade students new to Drew Freeman Middle School. The day will consist
of activities that will support their smooth transition from elementary to middle school. They will follow their schedule, meet
their teachers, be afforded breakfast and lunch as well as participate in a full day of middle school.

Please access your child’s schedule prior to Monday, August 25th by visiting the School/Max Parent Portal found on the
PGCPS homepage. To discover your child’s schedule please visit www.pgcps.org.

Students will attend for the entire school day from 7:45am – 2:45pm as well as have the opportunity to visit each of their
classes and learn the school-wide and classroom expectations. Students will also have an opportunity to participate in a
school-wide assembly designed specifically for the incoming 7th graders.

Transportation will be provided for each student. Parents who will be transporting students independently should drop
students off on Brooks Drive near the back of the campus; cars are not permitted to enter the back of the school during
school hours. All students will report to the cafeteria upon their arrival where they will be greeted by administrators and
teachers.

We are truly excited about this opportunity to greet your students as they embark on this new journey as Drew Freeman
Falcons. We look forward to meeting your child on Monday, August 25th for the official 7th Grade Transition Day!

Yours in Education,
LeTrecia Gloster
Acting Principal
