Honors Dance Ensemble

The Prince George’s County Public Schools Honors Dance Ensemble was developed for the purpose of recognizing exceptional high school dance students from the Fine Arts Dance Program. Students will be given the opportunity to work with our Prince George’s County Public Schools’ dance staff and professional artist.

A panel made up of Fine Arts staff and dance teachers will select two choreographers to feature their work on the students that are accepted into the ensemble. Dance teachers will be able to recommend up to five (5) students per school year to audition for the PGCPS Honors Dance Ensemble.

Once the students have been accepted into the ensemble they will embark upon four months of sharing, learning, performing, and dancing with their peers from across the county.  This is an exciting opportunity for our students and it commands a level of commitment beyond the school day.  Those that are chosen to participate in this enrichment program will be featured at the Harlem Renaissance Festival and at the 12th Annual Secondary Dance Showcase.
