    Media Specialist: Mr. Navas

    Hours of Operation: 7:40 - 2:25  

    (Chess Club, Write a Book & Study Hall every Thursday from 3pm to 4pm)

  • Hours of Operation: The official hours of Operation are from 7:30am to 2:30pm (Monday - Friday). Mr. Navas is flexible and normally arrives at 7am and will stay after school with prior coordination (24hrs advance notice).

    Access Students: To enter the media center, students must have an identification card and a valid pass from their teacher. Students who which to use the media center during lunch can get a lunch pass from Mr. Navas (before 1st period) or they can also get a valid pass from an administrator.

    Access Teachers: Schedule your class to use the "media center/computers lab/conference room" by sending an email to Mr. Navas with the requested date, period, subject, & location (Example 9/1/2011, 3A, College Summit, Computer Lab). You can look at the calendar on this page (side menu bar) to see what's available.    

     

    mccrewMission Statement: Our primary goal is to help our students become college and career ready. Crossland’s Media Center Team provides library media services to Crossland’s staff and students (over 100 staff members and over 1,300 students). We meet the needs of our customers (students, teachers and other staff members) by helping them find, evaluate and use the right resources (books, information, ideas, equipment) for the business of education.

     

     Our Team: The “media center team” is comprised of a Maryland State Certified Media Specialist and several dedicated student volunteers.

     

    Biography: Mr. Navas has two degrees from The Community College of the Air Force (Aviation Science & Audiovisual Production). He received his Bachelors degree from National Louis University and earned his Masters Degree in “Library & Information Science” from Catholic University of America in 2006. He is a P.G. County Teacher of the Month for 2009, a member of the PGCPS Library Media Support Team, and he is proud to be part of “Crossland High School’s Instructional Counsel.”
