    November & December Employee of the Month

    November:      Ruthdasia Lanier-Williams is Croom Vocational High School Employee of the Month for November 2017.  Dr. Lanier-Williams is a passionate educator whose goal is to ensure students have the skills needed to become productive and successful citizens.  Ruth was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. She graduated from Morgan State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS). She then received her Master’s in Educational Studies at John Hopkins University and earned two graduate certificates, one in Family and Community Collaboration and the other in Teacher Leadership.  Dr. Lanier-Williams recieved her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. 

    During her tenure at Croom she has been Senior Class Sponsor, Community Service Sponsor, Tech Liaison and has participated in a host of other committees.  

    December:  Darren Stephenson Sr., is Croom Vocational High School Employee of the Month for December 2017.   Mr. Stephenson has been a Counselor for more than 25 years and holds a Masters’ Degree in Education from Wilmington College and a Bachelor’s Degree from Lincoln University. 

    Mr. Stephenson keeps busy by working 3 jobs; PG Schools, City of Greenbelt and DC Mental Health. Darren has a son 19, a sophomore in College and a daughter 15, a sophomore in HS.  "I really enjoy my career as Counselor/Specialist.   It allows me the opportunity to help others and to give back to my community."   Mr. Stephenson is a firm believer that “in order to do a good deed, it first must be in your heart?”  

    Mr. Stephenson’s hobbies and interests are reading, bike riding and spending time with his children.  "It’s my goal to help all of the students of Croom High School, to grow and develop their critical Life Skills and to improve their thought processes."

    The Faculty and Staff at Croom Vocational High School would like to thank Dr. Williams and Mr. Stephenson for their dedication and hard work here at Croom, and we wish them continued success.
