Dismissal Policy
Before 1:45 pm no students are to be dismissed directly from their classroom without the office calling into the class and asking for the teacher to send the student to the office for early dismissal. Parents are not to come to any class and retrieve their child. Parents are not permitted to pick up their children from classrooms. If a parent comes into a classroom the teacher will send them back to the office so the office can confirm who the adult is and properly dismiss the child. Students must be checked out from the office to ensure the adult picking them up has permission and legal custody.
During dismissal time no students are to be dismissed from their class until their bus is called or until walkers are called. Students must be dismissed immediately when they are called. Busses are not obligated to wait on students. Any students who do miss their bus should report to the main office immediately. Teachers must have a list of students and their mode of transportation home posted near the door. Students should walk in a single file line and to the right while in the hallway or using stairs.
Teachers may not keep students after school for any reason unless they have a written note from the parents confirming they may do so. Students are not allowed to come to the office to make last minute phone calls to parents to get permission to remain at school. Teachers must have prior approval in writing from parents.
