Office of Constituent Services
Introduction

MISSION

The mission of the Office of Constituent Services is to provide technical assistance and conflict resolution to the community and staff in order to resolve constituent concerns in an equitable and timely manner and to inform the Superintendent and the Board of Education of trends and issues for responsible systemic change.

PURPOSE

Prince George’s County Public Schools has informal and formal processes in place for responding to parental and community inquiries, concerns, and complaints. Exceptions for these procedures are noted for issues where an alternative process is specifically provided by statute or other regulation.

Parents and community are encouraged to direct their concerns to the persons most closely involved. However, when the informal process fails to provide resolution, a constituent may file a formal complaint and seek review at a higher administrative level. In both processes, the intent is to protect the confidentiality and preserve the dignity of everyone involved.

The Office of Constituent Services serves as a neutral party in the resolution of concerns or conflicts and is available to assist the parent, family, or community member at any point in this process.
