BACKGROUND:
The Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) Office of Pupil Accounting and School Boundaries will host three public hearings on the Superintendent’s proposed boundary and grade structure changes that were developed following this fall’s public forums.

Proposed changes address boundary concerns at Kingsford, Highland Park, Yorktown and Waldon Woods elementary schools; discussing the possibility of shifting sixth grade into middle schools; adjusting boundaries for specialty programs; and ensuring that all students in a neighborhood attend the same schools.

The public hearings will formally brief parents, students and community members on the Superintendent’s proposed changes that will go before the Board of Education for a vote in December. The public may register to speak for three minutes by contacting the Office of Pupil Accounting and School Boundaries at 301-952-6300 by 4:30 p.m. the day of the hearing.
