UPPER MARLBORO, MD – On Tuesday, December 4, 2012, the Board of Education of Prince George's County ratified a new three-year labor contract with ACE-AFSCME Local 2250, the union representing most of the Board's noncertificated personnel, including paraprofessional educators, bus drivers and attendants, food service workers, nurses, and secretarial and maintenance personnel.

The new contract includes a one-time payment to all eligible bargaining unit employees equivalent to 2% of their FY13 annual salary (retroactive to July 1, 2012).  This contract settlement follows on the heels of a similar settlement with SEIU Local 400, the bargaining agent for the Board's noncertificated custodial personnel, which extended that employee group's contract through June 30, 2013, and included a similar retroactive 2% one-time payment.
