BACKGROUND:

Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month through a wide variety of commemorative activities and events. Schools are hosting assemblies, Multicultural Nights, International Dinners and musical performances. During the school day, students are expanding their knowledge of Latin American culture through creative projects, essays and displays.

"Learning About Hispanic American Heritage" Program  Facts will be given about the celebration of Hispanic American Heritage Month, Hispanic population in the United States, Hispanic vocabulary, Hispanic foods, etc.

Students will also be entertained by Mr. Hector Aguiniga, a delightful guitarist and singer who was born in Mexico. Hector is also a professional school counselor in the International School Counseling Office. For more than thirty years, he has played professional Mexican music to many audiences.
