Board of Education Selects Firm to Lead Superintendent Search

UPPER MARLBORO, MD – The Prince George’s County Board of Education has selected Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) to identify and screen candidates for Superintendent of Schools.

Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) has previously worked with HYA, the nation’s largest executive search firm for school systems. The firm has also led searches for Montgomery, Howard, Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Frederick counties. From 2000 to 2007, an estimated 19 percent of its searches involved districts with more than 25,000 students. The firm has completed more than 900 searches since its founding in 1987.

The Board of Education released a Request for Quotes (RFQ) on July 16. Quotes were due July 20.

Superintendent William R. Hite has resigned to lead the School District of Philadelphia.
