PGCPS Welcomes New County PTA Council Leaders

UPPER MARLBORO, MD—Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) welcomes the 2012-13 Prince George’s County PTA Council officers:

President - Earnest Moore
1st Vice President - Latisha Corey
2nd Vice President - Joan Ogburn-Hyson
Recording Secretary - Edna Harvin Battle
Corresponding Secretary - Karla Evans
Treasurer - Marcell Bishop

The purpose of the PTA Council is to promote the purposes and interests of National and Maryland PTA, strengthen the local PTA units with leadership support and training, and create and sustain partnerships with businesses and the community. The council’s main focus is advocating for students within Prince George County.

“The Prince George’s County PTA Council has been a strong voice for our families and teachers over the last few years,” said Dr. William R. Hite, Superintendent of Schools and a National PTA Board Member. “I encourage our parents to support their school’s PTA and look for other ways to partner with Prince George’s County Public Schools.”
