UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Three Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) students recently participated in the Cultivating Aspiring Leaders (CAL) Leadership Training Institute held in New York City.

Imani Braxton-Allen (Central High School), Tanesha Jefferson (Suitland High School) and Khalil Parker (John Hanson French Immersion School) attended the week-long program in June, focusing on leadership principles such as strategic, empathetic, courageous and resilient.

CAL supports emerging leaders through programs on thoughtful communication, win-win networking, global perspective, informed self-awareness and enlightened change.

CAL’s mission is to train teens and young adults to be effective business, community and thought leaders. The program also seeks to create a generation of professional and community leaders who are equipped to reduce inequities and improve underserved communities.
