UPPER MARLBORO, MD -- Barnaby Manor Elementary School principal Rhonda Gladden promised to eat fried worms – just like the main character in the popular book and movie, “How to Eat Fried Worms” – if her students read 15,000 books this school year. When the students read almost 21,260 books, Gladden had to hold up her end of the deal at a school-wide assembly.

"Our goal is to get our children exposed to as many different words and genres of reading possible," said Gladden.
