Terrence Price

Greenbelt, Md. Eleanor Roosevelt High School senior Terrence Price placed fourth in this year’s Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the world's largest international pre-college science competition.

“This tremendous honor is a fitting way to cap off the high school years,” said Dr. William R. Hite, Superintendent of Schools. “We commend Terrence on this achievement and wish him well in future endeavors.”

Price, who is enrolled in the Science and Technology program, competed against 67 other participants in the animal sciences category for discovering a pathogen capable of killing the brown marmorated stink bug. He conducted the research at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center. Price was the only Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) student participating in the Intel science fair.

The Intel ISEF is the premier global science competition for students in grades 9-12.  This year, more than 1,500 young scientists from 446 affiliate fairs in approximately 70 countries, regions and territories competed for more than $3 million in awards.
