Kenilworth Elementary Scores Touchdown with ‘Fuel Up to Play 60’

BOWIE, MD--Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo visited Kenilworth Elementary School on Friday to offer congratulation on becoming a “Touchdown School” through the Fuel Up to Play 60 program.


Schools that completed all six steps of the program by April 1 were eligible to win. Fuel Up to Play 60 was created by the National Dairy Council and National Football League to encourage students to be active for 60 minutes daily and fuel up with nutrient-rich foods. diets. The program is sponsored locally by the Mid-Atlantic Dairy Association.


More than 50 awards were presented to Kenilworth students for participating in the program.


"We are truly thankful to Brian Orakpo and for the Fuel Up to 60 program in our school,” said Kenilworth principal Rodney Henderson. “The program shows the children how to eat healthy and to get into a regular routine of exercising."
