PGCPS Destination ImagiNation Teams Advance to Global Finals

UPPER MARLBORO, MD -- Three teams from Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) will advance to the Destination ImagiNation Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee from May 23-26.

Destination ImagiNation is a community-based, school-friendly program where teams of five to seven members learn to apply their knowledge and skills to solve challenges, work cooperatively and push the limits of imagination to better themselves.

The following teams will compete in the Global Finals:

Bond Mill Bulldogs (Bond Mill Elementary School)
Winning Category: The Solar Stage, Elementary Level

Kenmoor Middle School D.I. Team
Winning Category: The World Canvas, Middle Level

Eleanor Roosevelt Team 10 (Eleanor Roosevelt High School)
Winning Category: The World Canvas, Secondary Level

Twenty-six PGCPS teams participated in the state tournament at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County on April 14 including Bond Mill, Glenarden Woods, Heather Hills, Hollywood, Northview and Yorktown elementary schools; Accokeek Academy; Robert Goddard French Immersion School; Kenmoor and Samuel Ogle middle schools; and Bowie and Eleanor Roosevelt high schools.

The state tournament was sponsored by Maryland Creative Problem Solvers, Inc. (MCPSI), a

non-profit affiliate of Destination ImagiNation, Inc. MCPSI has offered creative problem-solving

programs to Maryland students for more than 25 years. Each year, more than 400 teams from

across Maryland participate in tournaments in eight different regions.
