WHERE:	William S. Schmidt Outdoor Education Center 18715 Aquasco Road, Brandywine, Maryland

BACKGROUND:

The Administration Building at the William S. Schmidt Outdoor Education Center will be officially renamed the John Neville Administration Building. Neville began his 46-year career with PGCPS in February 1967 at Beacon Heights Elementary School as a sixth grade teacher, later serving as an Elementary Science Specialist, Environmental Education Specialist, and Supervisor of Environmental Education. In addition, he was the point person for managing the William S. Schmidt Center starting with the Johnny on the Spot campsites in 1974 through the development of the residential overnight centers. He retired in 2011.

The Prince George’s County Planning Board voted in October to name the building in Neville’s honor.
