Rockledge Visit

BOWIE Interim State Superintendent of Schools Bernard J. Sadusky toured Rockledge Elementary School on Friday.

Rockledge participates in the Maryland Technology Academy program, designed to give teachers professional development opportunities that focus on using technology to impact student learning and promote school improvement. Dr. Sadusky got a firsthand view of how technology is integrated into the school’s curriculum.

“I am very impressed with the focus and consistency in each of the classrooms. It’s a reflection of strong leadership and utilizing data to help reach targeted goals,” he said. “Rockledge is a great module we can use to replicate throughout the state of Maryland.”

Dr. Sadusky visited several classrooms, including students in prekindergarten through first grades, along with the computer lab and media center.

Principal Kimberly Seidel and Superintendent of Schools William R. Hite Jr. welcomed Sadusky.

“He has reaffirmed what we are doing on a daily basis with students and what we should be doing to help them,” Seidel said.

Following the tour, Dr. Sadusky met with state Sen. Paul Pinsky.
