BACKGROUND: 

 

Greenbelt and Hollywood Elementary School students, parents, and staff will join schools from around the world to celebrate International Walk to School Day.   

 

Schools nationwide and in all 50 states are expected to participate in this year’s International Walk to School Day. The purpose of the event is to create safer routes for walking and bicycling, emphasize the importance of increasing physical activity, improve pedestrian safety and traffic issues, and build connections among families, schools, and the community.
