Student-Run Bank Celebrates Grand Opening at Parkdale High School

WHAT: Grand Opening of Student-Run Capital One Bank Branch 

WHEN: Monday, October 3 • 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: Parkdale High School, 6001 Good Luck Road, Riverdale, MD

BACKGROUND:
Ten students from Parkdale High School were selected among their peers to run and operate a bank branch in the school, under the supervision of Capital One Bank management.  The program will offer students and faculty basic banking services, as well as promote financial literacy among the wider student body.

The Parkdale High School branch is the first Capital One Student-Run Bank Branch in the Greater Washington, DC region, and the fourth in-school bank branch opened by Capital One Bank since 2007. Capital One established its first student-run branch at the Fordham Leadership Academy for Business and Technology in the Bronx, and others are located in Harlem and Newark, New Jersey.
