2011-2012 Scholars of the Week
PROGRAM
PGCPS Scholar of the Week
An outstanding high school senior from each high school will be recognized as the PGCPS Scholar of the Week on pgcps.org and in local media.
PURPOSE
To recognize and promote PGCPS students with exemplary academic performance and outstanding contributions to their school and community
GUIDELINES
- Must be a high school senior
- Must be in good standing with their school
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Must be nominated by Principal/and or Professional School Counselor with the approval of the principal
- A copy of the scholar’s student data sheet must accompany the nomination
- A signed publicity release form must accompany the nomination
- Student’s name and School
- Cumulative GPA and Quarter GPA
- Academics (i.e. AP, IB, or honors courses the student has taken, academic honors, PGCPS programs/tracks such as TAG, Performing Arts, Montessori, French Immersion, or other FOCUS programs)
- Extracurricular activities ( in and out of school to include clubs, volunteer work, outstanding number of service learning hours earned, sports, band or orchestra, etc.)
- Future Plans (colleges the student will apply to or has been accepted to, immediate and long range career goals)
- Interesting Notes (special skills and talents, i.e. a black belt in Karate, etc.; own their own business; leadership role in the community; significant accomplishments or awards)
