- Students who are late to class must receive a 50% deduction in grades for participation
- Homework is collected within the first five minutes, and students who are late for class will have 50% deducted
- If students cut class, they must receive a 100% deduction for participation
- All teachers must follow this policy in order to improve the climate.
The vast majority of students report to their classes on time. Some students will tell you they do not have enough time to get to class. This is not true. It is a FACT that if they do not socialize or go to their lockers between classes they do have enough time to get to class.
Students who cut class will not be allowed to make up missed work. If they miss more than 10 classes they will receive a failing grade.
Parents must help us enforce these rules and not accept student excuses for tardiness or missing class.
Please refer to the PGCPS Code of Student Conduct page 3 which states "teachers are not required to provide make-up when absences are unlawful".
