  • PLTW Now Accepting Rising 9th and 10th Graders

    Coach Jeff Ware Girls Coach of the Year

    Indoor Track- Senior Imani Matthews

    Imani had an impressive Senior indoor season, coming off a just as impressive XC season where she was Runner of the Year. She showed true to form at the 4A MD State Championship where she finished 3rd overall in the 800m run (2:24.04) and 11th in the 500m dash (1:21.85), setting a personal best and New Indoor School Record in the 800m run. Imani also anchored the 4x400m Relay to a 8th place finish at the state meet.  At the East Regional Championships, Imani showed her dominance by winning the 800m run by a 4 second margin in 2:24.41. She also placed 5th in the 500m dash advancing to states. At the County Championships, she placed 6th in the 500m dash and anchored the 4x400m Relay to a 3rd place finish.

    Swimming- Junior Sydney Horton, Sophomores-Don Brazelton, Ashley & Alexis Braswell
    Sidney and Don were undefeated this season in every event they swam except the State Championship meet. went 4 for 4 at county Championships, Sidney won the 200 I.M. and 100 Free and Don Won the 200 Free and 100 Back Stroke both were members of the winning 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays. Both young men went 3 for 4 at South Region Championships, Sidney again winning the 100 Free and 200 I.M. and set the meet record 2:07.92 and Don won the 200 Free and 100 Back and set the meet record 2:07.92  both were members of the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays that finished third and second. At State championships Sidney finished seventh in the 100 Free. Both also hold the school records for there events.
    Alexis and Ashley had great season also, both were undefeated during the regular season. Alexis won the 200 Free at county championships and finished second in the 500 Free. Ashley finished second at county championships in both the 200 I.M. and 100 Backstroke. Both were on winning 200 Free relay and finished second in the 400 Free relay. They both finished second and third in there individual events and relay at South Region Championships qualifying them for State championships.
