This office maintains certification records for professional instructional and administrative personnel, and reviews and evaluates new hires for Maryland certification. Personnel on contract will contact members of one of the following teams, depending on his/her certification type:
Provisional Team
(for Conditionally teachers: certification.conditional@pgcps.org)
Standard Professional Team
(for teachers with SPC I and SPC II: certification.spc@pgcps.org)
Advanced Professional Team
(for teachers with APC: certification.apc@pgcps.org)
New professional hires are required to attend a new teacher orientation session. This office will provide comprehensive information and materials regarding the Maryland Certification process, recent changes in regulations, and an overview of renewal requirements.
