The work of the library media center and its staff are vital to the educational process in ensuring that all students achieve academic and personal success. A thriving library media program ensures that the lives of its patrons will be improved, enriched and challenged as it supports efforts to prepare students to become lifelong learners.
Vision: The library media center is a sanctuary for books and a place where students can learn how to use a library to become effective users of information in a rapidly changing technological world.
Mission: The mission of the Central High School Library Media Center is to create an enthusiastic atmosphere that provides teachers and students with curriculum supportive instruction and resources. This will ensure that all the members of the school community will be effective retrievers of information through the use of traditional resources and evolving technologies.
Hours: The Library Media Center is open on school days at 7:25 A.M. It closes at 2:35 P.M. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Tuesday, when activity buses are available, the Library Media Center will remain open until 4:00 P.M.
Circulation: All students and staff are encouraged to use the media center and borrow materials. Students may check out fiction and non-fiction books for 2 weeks. Reference books and magazines do not circulate. All circulated materials are checked out via our on-
line computer system.
