As your experienced and educated Registered Nurse, I am a Calverton team member whose goal is to keep students safe, healthy, and in school so they can learn from our expert teachers.  Calverton Elementary is one of the largest elementary schools in Prince George’s County.  We have many students with multiple health needs.  Parents, guardians, staff, and students, I have an open door policy and appreciate when you communicate information regarding these needs.  You may stop by the Health Room or call me at 301-572-0648.  Parents and Guardians, please provide me with a phone number where you may be reached.  It is essential that I have emergency contact information.

Parent Fact Sheet ( contains information about ALL medications at school.  No medications, including cough drops and other over the counter medications, may be brought to school without having the proper medication form on file with the nurse.)

• Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP) offers health insurance coverage for children and pregnant women. Call the Healthline at 1-888-561-4049 for information and an application. Medicaid coverage must be renewed every year.
• Prince George’s County Health Department will administer immunizations for free. Call 301-583-3300 to schedule an appointment and for directions to the site closest to you.
• The Governor’s Wellmobile – 1-866-228-9668.  Provides medical services to the uninsured. At various locations (call for schedule and  locations)

• Vision Referral:

• LensCrafters – “Gift of Sight”.  With referral from nurse they can profide free glasses to students in need.  Go to nearest LensCrafter and ask for the “Gift of Sight” captain.  www.lenscrafter.com
• Hispanic Institute for Blindness Prevention – Falls Church, VA  703-532-0728.  Their van goes to various locations – Silver Springs, MD is the closest to Calverton ES.  Free or reduced prices.
